Suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity

[edit]

Information icon Established policy provides for the removal of the administrative permissions of users who have made fewer than 100 edits over a 60-month period. Your administrative permissions have been removed.

Subject to certain time limits and other restrictions, your administrative permissions may be returned upon request at WP:BN.

Thank you for your past contributions to the project. — xaosflux Talk 02:23, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

a username from a Matrix movie is so "early 2000s"

[edit]

I saw your emotional outburst at BN. I want to remind you that adminship is about a toolset to help our community of editors. We need admins to block vandals, protect pages, and other sundry tasks. You cannot claim to have been demoted because you were never better than the rest of us to begin with, especially not on the basis of your joke of an RfA. The editing community resents admins like you who treat "teh bit" like a trophy, which is why the community has made RfA and the rules regarding de-adminship more and more strict. Your behavior is why adminship is a big deal. It would be better for you to have pride in having served the community back in 2004, rather than complain you deserve lifetime merit on this website. Had you made your adminship about the toolset helping the community, you would still be active and contributing. That said, we do not expect that you are always available on this website forever. You have a life and you can leave this website without concerning yourself about a userright you stopped using. Chris Troutman (talk) 02:00, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I do not respect the kind of person who would post such a comment, and am surprised it was you, Chris. I hope it made you feel really good to write it, at least, so it isn't 100% worthless. Shame on you. --Floquenbeam (talk) 17:34, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Rest assured that not everyone in the editing community shares Chris troutman's opinion. It's a good thing Chris is a non serviam because statements like this probably kill any chance they might have of becoming an admin themselves. I'm sympathetic to your opinion, Merovingian, but alas, I guess I'm in the minority on this issue. I think inactive admins are no big deal, except for the few whose accounts have been hacked, and, we can deal with that. – wbm1058 (talk) 18:15, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

[edit]

Just wanted you let you know that there are still people who remember the old days and when Wikipedia was a less formal and more fun place. There are still good things to do here and good times to be had here, with or without sysop rights. Andre🚐 02:24, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, me too. Thanks for the 18 years of contributions to the project, M. --Floquenbeam (talk) 17:38, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks from me as well since I didn't actually say thanks. In fact Merovingian, you supported my RFA and 2 of my RFBs. I'm sure I thanked you at the time. But I am not an admin/bureaucrat any longer and I am still editing here. Cheers. Andre🚐 17:47, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Uuvudhiya has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not exist. None of the sources mentions this as a populated place, only as a name of the constituency. At the coordinates there is nothing. Uuvudhiya constituency office is at Engombe, says https://oshanarc.gov.na/uuvudhiya

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Orphaned non-free image File:Coast to coast am logo.jpg

[edit]
⚠
Thanks for uploading File:Coast to coast am logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:26, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Virtualization Development

[edit]

Hello Merovingian, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Virtualization Development, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Virtualization Development.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Wasianpower}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Invitation to participate in a research

[edit]

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
