Talk:JEFF K
I vote this be deleted. -- Zoe
How come? -- Cyde
It isn't encyclopedic. -- Zoe
Since this is a board encyclopedia that covers popular culture topics, I thought that one about ‘JeffK’, who is somewhat of a popular icon, would be fine. Do you object to the way the article was written or do you object to the article its’ self? User:AaronNorris
It's at least as encyclopedic as Penny Arcade, Kuro5hin, and other such "internet culture" things. I might support deleting this article and wrapping it up into one Something Awful article that discusses Jeff K as one part of the site. -- Delirium
Removed part about "created during campaign to drive users from his site"; the JeffK character significantly predates that campaign. -- Delirium
JEFFK's even been parodied - (dump teh xul) - so he's certainly recognisable Kirun
Should link to B1FF
[edit]The jeffk entry really needs a "see also" link to http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/B1FF
- It looks like someone has done this. Saucepan
Did Jeff K originate the term asshat?
[edit]Did Jeff K really originate the term "asshat"? I guess it wouldn't be too surprising if he did, since somethingawful.com has turned out to be the source of more than a few bits of Internet drollery, but I'm sure I remember seeing "asshat" in use before Jeff K. appeared on the scene. The earliest uses I've been able to find are in Usenet here and here, but I'm curious if it's older still.
(As for "clownboat", I had never heard of it at all. But I like it.) Saucepan 05:11, 13 May 2004 (UTC)
Name Spacing/Capitalization
[edit]"Jeff K" is used about 18 times more than "JeffK" on SomethingAwful.com. Also, his name seems to have normal capitalization and a period after the K when used outside of his site ([1]). I've therefore moved this article to "Jeff K." DopefishJustin 21:09, May 13, 2004 (UTC)
