Removed reference to curcumin as a treatment for depression
[edit]I've also removed the reference to the study backing that claim, as it hasn't been replicated, is an animal-only study, and I can't find any evidence of human trials at all. Curcumin's page on Wikipedia (currently) says "Curcumin has no confirmed medical use in spite of efforts to find one via both laboratory and clinical research. It is difficult to study because it is both unstable and not bioavailable. It is unlikely to produce useful leads for drug development" with a citation. The article also details why it's so unlikely that curcumin would have any positive physiological effect were it to actually enter the bloodstream in a significant quantity. It later references a 2017 meta-analysis finding no reliable evidence that curcumin does anything useful at all. Naptastic (talk) 03:53, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
Queries for the experts
[edit]Good article!
"The expression of reelin by Cajal–Retzius cells goes down during development under the influence of BDNF."
Is there a more elegant wording than "goes down"? "is reduced"? "is suppressed"?
And "It binds carboxypeptidase E (CPE), and disruption of this binding has been proposed to cause the loss of sorting BDNF into dense-core vesicles."
Could it be "has been proposed to stop the sorting of BDNF into dense-core vesicles."?
