Does anyone have a more specific idea where this place is? I could not find it on this map. "Between Addis Ababa and Asmara" is extremely vague, and the fact that Dessie lies to the south does not narrow it down very much. May also need to update this article to include to Eritrea, if part or all of this area lies therein (anyway it does refer to Asmara). -- Gyrofrog (talk) 02:34, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I redirected "Amba-Alagi" to this page, after having previously done the reverse. From what I can tell it should be Amba Alagi. I also changed the introductory sentence. It isn't any more clear regarding location, but it no longer reads as though Asmara is in Ethiopia. I will make an additional edit to show that this place is a mountain, at least as depicted on this British map from WW2. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 06:43, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I found this map and was able to narrow down the location a little more. But I can't connect some of the locations on this old map to a more modern one (and vice versa). -- Gyrofrog (talk) 06:54, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I have updated the elevation of mountain according to Encyclopaedia Aethiopica: A-C. And I have located the mountain from [1].Vatse (talk) 15:32, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

Regarding the following sentence:
- After the defeat, the Italians withdrew from Eritrea to Amba Alagi and Gondar.
Shouldn't this be the other way around? Why would the defeated army retreat to the place where they had just been defeated? I will go ahead and update this in the article. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 15:42, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
