Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Maveric149
See Wikipedia talk:Template messages#Moving templates to talk pages for continued discussion. This page is no longer being used.
In order to remain listed at Wikipedia:Requests for comment, at least two people need to show that they tried to resolve a dispute with this user and have failed. This must involve the same dispute, not different disputes. The persons complaining must provide evidence of their efforts, and each of them must certify it by signing this page with ~~~~. If this does not happen within 48 hours of the creation of this dispute page (which was: {insert UTC timestamp with ~~~~~}), the page will be deleted. The current date and time is: 07:23, 1 November 2024 (UTC).

Statement of the dispute
[edit]Maveric149 has moved many templates including {{POV check}} and {{expand list}} to the talk pages, and replaced them with HTML comments. Many editors have protested (User talk:Maveric149 and Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#Moving tags to talk pages?) and he stopped, but the damage needs to be cleaned up. If this is the wrong place to list this, I apologize, but no one offered an alternative. --SPUI (talk) 20:54, 12 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Evidence of disputed behavior

- contributions (contributions, shows the many changes he has made)
- On the Rebuttals to the cosmological argument article, User:Maveric149, removed the {{povcheck}} and {{cleanup-tone}} tags [1] and moved them to the talk page, replacing them with html comments. There was no discussion of this - indeed prior to User:Maveric149's action, the talk page did not exist [2].

- --Thryduulf 21:51, 12 Feb 2005 (UTC) (I did not have a very big part in this, but think I have done enough to qualify to sign here [explicit edit summary, comment on village pump where maveric149 was responding]. If other neutral parties disagree please move my name to the certifying section and explain your reasoning on the talk page of this RfC. In case this happens someone else should ideally certify here also).

Response
[edit]This is a summary written by the user whose conduct is disputed, or by other users who think that the dispute is unjustified and that the above summary is biased or incomplete.
This is petty and irrelevant. I have stopped doing the disputed behavior pending an outcome that resolves the underlying issues. So what is the point of this page? --mav 21:57, 12 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- The point was that I couldn't find a better place to do this. Apparently Wikipedia talk:Template messages#Moving templates to talk pages is such a place; I hope it can be more structured than the village pump discussion. --SPUI (talk) 22:04, 12 Feb 2005 (UTC)
