Season recap

So it got busy for a while in the Pacific, but it just died down the stretch! Pretty quiet year overall...unlike in the Atlantic. CrazyC83 04:01, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed this season was pretty boring. That stretch with four storms in the ocean at once was pretty exciting though. For 2-4 hours, 2005 had the most storms active at once in the East Pacific, I researched it. Jova (actually in the Central Pacific at the time), Kenneth (at peak intensity), Lidia (barely a storm getting absorbed into Max), and Max. -- Hurricane Eric - my dropsonde - archive 00:08, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Fairly interesting, for me that is. Pretty boring season overall, but September was pretty exciting. October was duller than than it's been in a long time. Otis peaked as a Cat 2 on Day 1, but other than that, there was just Pilar (my name for 16E, see above), the tenacious little bugger that, in my opinion, never got the recognition it fully deserved. Why do you only mention the high activity in May when the MWR notes some other stuff ". Four tropical storms formed from late June through late July, but none of these became hurricanes. Following another break in activity for about three weeks, the middle-to-late portions of August were fairly active, with four more tropical storms, two of which became hurricanes. Although the first two weeks of September were quiet,six tropical storms formed during the three-week period from 12 September to 3 October, and four of these became hurricanes."? Generally speaking, this article get repetitive, even though the sections themselves make sense. Possibly change a few instances of "fall" to "was downgraded" or "weakened to". Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE)

Although due to the lack of information on the trace history of tropical cyclones that have crossed the Central Pacific, also due to the Central Pacific Hurricane Center moved to the National Hurricane Center in 2019. The 2005 season index it was irrelevant, with 75 units.

Well, I found it at Colorado State University website, in the Northeast Pacific of the basin archives section. The correct Accumulated Cyclone Energy index was 96.6 units. Because two crossed into the Central Pacific, especially Jova and Kenneth, Jova as a major hurricane and Kenneth as a low-end hurricane. I just hope that Supportstorm updates the 2005 tropical cyclone tracks until he finishes updating the 2006 tropical cyclone tracks. Send my help --МОДОКАУ 04:27, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
