Romantic partners
[edit]Should there not at least in the personal section be a mention of WNBC's Katy Tur with whom he lived for three years? Rustygecko (talk) 06:27, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
- Yes. On her Wikipedia page there is mention of it. luckymustard (talk) 14:45, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- He's still talking about it. He devoted about ten minutes to it the other night because of Tur's recent controversy on Twitter (X) where she said Jill Biden wasn't Hunter's birth mother. Olbermann also talked about their relationship counseling sessions and the alleged domestic violence by Tur, when she allegedly attacked him after he was recovering from surgery. Viriditas (talk) 21:49, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- It seems sexist to only mention it on her page, especially since she says that she is haunted to this day by people thinking of her as just Keith Olbermann’s old girlfriend. In addition, Olbermann engages in regular abuse against her on Twitter. 152.208.20.30 (talk) 04:06, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Agreed. Viriditas (talk) 07:09, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
Hoping for Trump Assassination
[edit]This article needs to be updated given Olberdork's latest over the top outrageous comments hoping for Trump's assassination. However, the article is locked and I cannot edit. Here is a reliable source: https://www.foxnews.com/media/keith-olbermann-suggests-hope-trumps-assassination-x-post. Please add to the article. Thanks. 2603:6080:BE00:CB20:88C6:FB58:AA17:8DF0 (talk) 04:29, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- Clearly a joke, even if one in poor taste. Given the current status of Fox News, I would want to see more coverage before I would think it WP:DUE for inclusion here, but reasonable minds may certainly differ. Cheers. Dumuzid (talk) 04:38, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- There is more than one source other than fox reporting the fact he wants to kill trump.
- here is from what looks like a local oulet.

- Fox News is such a weird, alternative reality. Nobody characterizes Olbermann as "far left". Fox isn't a reliable source for good reason. Go listen to a recent Olbermann podcast episode. There's nothing there that could be called "far left". Viriditas (talk) 00:22, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
- It's unfortunate, but Olbermann does go over the top a bit too much. I personally was somewhat offended when he started talking about all the women he slept with. I'm like dude, this is 2024, we don't do that anymore. I think there's ways he could have said the same thing without coming off as a frat-bro and offending modern sensibilities. The same thing could be said about Trump and his limited lifespan. It's how you say something, not what you say. Olbermann knows this, but I'm guessing he's a master at extemporaneous speech, and as such, this is the risk. He really needs an editor other than himself. Viriditas (talk) 00:16, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
Recruitment of Rachel Madow
[edit]No mention here of his recruitment and encouragement of Rachel Maddow, which does appear on the wikipedia page for Rachel Maddow. Joelhgarner (talk) 01:19, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's a major omission. Viriditas (talk) 21:13, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
Re: Ben Affleck
[edit]I'm convinced Ben Affleck's parody of Olbermann needs to be mentioned here.[1] Two reasons: it's considered one of the best SNL sketches that Affleck ever performed, and it broke a lot of "rules" in terms of length and acting (more than eight minutes, no teleprompter, only cue cards); and there's apparently commentary from Olbermann about the sketch.[2] Viriditas (talk) 21:16, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
Screenwriter?
[edit]Has Olbermann written any screenplays? He comes of as a natural storyteller who would do well in this field. My question is, 1) are there any sources that explain why he hasn't gone in this direction? Or has he? Viriditas (talk) 20:49, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
