Plant, Jones, Bonham

[edit]

Hedabla99, ARMcgrath, 189.59.80.17, 190.18.123.170, FlightTime, Andre666 & other contributors: Including Plant, Jones, and Bonham as members of the Yardbirds on an equal footing as Relf, etc., appears to be WP:SYNTHESIS. As the "Yardbirds", they performed eight shows over a period of one week to fulfill outstanding concert commitments (the rest were cancelled) and two back-to back dates in England before they settled on a name. This makes them like stand-ins or substitutes rather than full-fledged group members (other musicians, including Roger Pearce, Brian Jones, Mick O'Neill, Tony Carter, and Mike Vernon, were called multiple times to fill in for Clapton and Relf at different points; there's also a French video with them lip synching "Shapes of Things" with an unknown guitarist).[1] Biographer Gregg Russo argues that the "New Yardbirds" is a misconception based on a vague magazine article and that there is no evidence that they were ever billed as such. In any event, more convincing sources, such as their many biographies, are needed to confirm Plant, Jones, and Bonham as bona fide members. —Ojorojo (talk) 17:49, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The graph

[edit]

Personally think it is an extremely unruly looking thing. Is there reasoning behind having the studio and live album releases as continuous black and grey lines with the ugly looking angled bits and not just a straight vertical line down for each release like pretty much every other ban article I have read? --TheMightyAllBlacks (talk) 02:53, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

On the topic, I have just split the graph into "original run" and "reunion". The original timeline suffered since: there was a lot of wasted space between 68-92, the years 63-68 were so cramped in the scale of things, and this is probably the part that people are most interested in anyway. I think this is a vast improvement. Jordan Mitchell Barrett (talk) 06:23, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
