Another welcome
[edit]I saw your post on the new user log and I'm happy to see you. Wikipedia needs a lot more coverage on fine arts. So give the policies and guidelines a quick read and dive straight in. Don't worry about making mistakes. As long as you stay civil and are willing to ask questions there's people willing to teach you how things work. Welcome aboard! Mgm|(talk) 22:21, Mar 31, 2005 (UTC)
Hi - I noticed you were on the receiving end of a rather snippy comment on the talk page of London from an anonymous user. I think the anon was a logged-out user who many people have had unpleasant interactions with and was renowned for being tetchy and unfriendly. In case you felt his feelings were more generally held I just thought I'd say it looks to me like you've been doing some good work on the London article - keep it up! To quote from Wikipedia itself: "Harringay is an area of North London, in the London Borough of Haringey (note the different spelling)."
The borough is Haringey; however Haringey much like other boroughs in London consists of many places, including Harringay. There is a pub in Crouch End called The Harringay Arms.
http://www.haringey.gov.uk/ is the official website for the local council.
I hope this answers your question! :-)
Hi Duncan. Please note that in Wikipedia we give names by "firstname lastname", so there is already an extensive article at Willem de Kooning and Jackson Pollock. DJ Clayworth 16:17, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Oh - I see! thanks!..Duncan Smith
contributions to culture article needed
[edit]Hello Duncan - I saw your contributions to the page on abstract art. Some of its content overlaps with the nascent Culture of New York City article. It needs lots of revising and fleshing out. If you get a chance, check it out. Your contributions would be welcome. Wv235 22:33, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Ymg 004.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Ymg 004.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:08, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
