I was amazed to read that Kitaro is a "Living National Treasure". When did this happen?

He has been described by the Encyclopedia Britannica as "the quintessential musician of the new age". Where in the EB?

he has produced music that bridges new age, politics, religion, and the very core of culture -- What (if anything) does this mean? -- Hoary 10:54, 2004 Dec 23 (UTC)

It means precisely... nothing. Just another op-ed.24.218.128.115 (talk) 08:36, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The biography at http://www.gigapolis.com/silkroad/kitaro/english/person.htm [1] is nearly identical to the original version of this article, but I have no idea which came first. ArglebargleIV 03:54, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Major Overhaul

[edit]

Hey! I just did a major overhaul of the meat of the article. There were a lot of poorly phrased sentances and excesive use of quotes (one lasted a whole paragraph). I didn't add any new information, just reworked what was already there, so if you want new sources you need to add them yourselves. Enjoy! Sevey13 (talk) 22:38, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

West Lake Impression?

[edit]

In 2007, Kitaro has composed the music for West Lake Impression, a large-scale opera, directed by renowned Chinese film director Zhang Yimou. The opera reflects the city’s history and culture through music and dance. Using modern technology, the stage is 75 centimeters below the lake’s surface during the day so as not to affect the landscape and boating activities. In the evening, the stage is 75 centimeters below the lake’s surface.[citation needed] The two-hour event had its opening night in March 2007.

Both say below. Corrections anyone? I can't find any good info on it myself.

Also, isn't it really called "Impression West Lake"? Qwiggalo (talk) 14:34, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
