solution
[edit]Is it a solution or what? It seems like its a mixture or suspension but it really isn't clear. Also, is it the same stuff that is used in ph paper?
- Depends- you can make pH paper with pretty much any indicator. When I made a red cabbage indicator, we also soaked paper in it to make indicator paper. However, universal indicator paper is made from UI. -- Dandelions 13:35, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

I made technical changes to this 6/30/07. I was uncertain about Wikipedia article formatting. I would like to thank whoever cleaned up my formatting. Is there a writers guide that I should check out?
Universal indicator is a very popular educational tool, and the article is now technically sound. Thanks again to the format editor.

Is Aphex Twin relavant as a see also?
[edit]Shouldn't this be changed to a 'This article is about the acidity indicator, for the artist see Aphex Twin'? Jorourke92 (talk) 14:46, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Merge
[edit]I merged Disappearing rainbow indicator into this article. I couldn't verify much of the information on the Disappearing rainbow indicator, so not much was preserved. Perhaps some of it was original research, although it seems unusually that a variable mixture could have such definite properties as were described (density, boiling point, vapor pressure). Who is "Yamada"?
[edit]The article mentions a man with the surname Yamada who invented the indicator. I can find plenty of other materials indicating that there indeed was a man named Yamada, but nobody seems to have bothered to attach a first name. The Yamada disambiguation page doesn't have an article for him. --65.128.179.240 (talk) 03:48, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
- His first name (from the patent) appears to be 忍 (Shinobu).
