Pronunciation of the letter a

[edit]

This letter is not pronounced [æ] in Tajik. Even in Iranian Persian it's between [æ] an [a], but in Tajik it's between front [a] and even central [ä]. Who said that it's [æ] in Tajik?

Lede

[edit]

@HistoryofIran: On second thought, that entire sentence about the popularity of the idea should be replaced with something more objective – preferably public opinion in Tajikistan. Esszet (talk) 04:07, 6 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

POV

[edit]

The lede acknowledges that views are divided on whether Tajik as a separate language or a dialect of Persian, and yet it basically presents it as a type of Persian anyway. It should be worded in a neutral way. 87.126.21.225 (talk) 18:58, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Tajiki Persian dialect

[edit]

The title of this article should be moved to "Tajik dialect" not "language".

Tajiki is a dialect of Persian language and the official language of the countries of Tajikistan, Iran and Afghanistan is Persian, which differ only at the dialect level, and their commonalities are so much that the people of these countries can easily understand each other's words (like American and British English).
