- Keep. As a general rule, I'd suggest that anyone who campaigns for the Canadian House of Commons is eligible for an entry on Wikipedia. This page needs a cleanup; it doesn't need to be deleted. CJCurrie 00:17, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. I presume if this person had run for office on a Star Trek episode it would be fine to keep them. The Recycling Troll 04:47, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. All it says is he ran for election (and presumably lost). Lots of people lose elections, there is no astonishing achievement to run for an election. I could run for election in the next UK general election, and although I'd undoubtedly lose my deposit, I'd bet I could get more than 84 votes, which this guy did. - Delete. As what "Average Earthman" mentioned. --*drew 12:39, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Keep it - this person was on the ballot in a real election. That's notable enough. Intrigue 19:45, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Wiki is the only place you'll find this info. the world needs a place for these people.Kevintoronto 21:00, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- That argument would hold water a little better if I hadn't provided a link with more info in it already - CBC. Average Earthman 08:35, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. If the only place you will find information for this unsuccessful candidate for an election is in Wikipedia, then that candidate is certainly non-notable. If someone wants to keep this information, put it on a site that is less encyclopedic. Jallan 22:44, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Keep but fix (ie get rid of "legend of Pierre Trudeau", give riding he ran in and votes received)AndyL 22:56, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Delete got same reasons as for Rick Barsley plus what Jallan says above. Jongarrettuk 23:02, 29 Sep 2004 (UTC)

- As with Ian Woods, Fernandez is notable beyond simply being a failed electoral candidate. Admittedly the article didn't do a very good job of imparting this, but he's the president of the party's Quebec wing, and therefore legitimately important in the development of a legitimate political party. I've added some info to the article now to make its notability a bit more clear, so I guess I'm with the keepers. Bearcat 23:19, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)
